Overview
Below is an illustrative overview of the Bizagi Cloud Platform architecture and its key services. Each layer or component in this modular platform works together to support intelligent process automation, enabling organizations to design, execute, monitor, and optimize business processes at scale.
End-User Interaction (Portals)
Most services can be accessed via web-based portals. The following are some of the portals in Bizagi PaaS.
The Work Portal is the primary interface through which end users interact with Bizagi applications.
Bizagi Apps combines the strengths of low-code and process automation, to quickly design and develop solutions while ensuring automated processes remain the backbone of their operations.
Customer Portal is a centralized web-based application that lets you manage users of all the services you acquire from our Bizagi cloud platform. You can easily invite users, manage permissions to access the resources of your cloud services, and share resources.
With Management Console, administrators can manage each environment (like test, staging, or production), like authentication, authorization to Work Portal menus, external system parameters, connectors configuration, and review traces.
Build Page is a portal for Studio Cloud Services, to manage options for development, such as Configuration profiles for users and download Studio desktop application.
Bizagi Studio and Modeler (Desktop Apps)
•Bizagi Studio is the integrated development environment (IDE) that process designers, business analysts, and developers use to create and configure process applications. Bizagi Studio is the tool used in the authoring environment to automate the processes you define with Bizagi Modeler. Its easy-to-use wizard guides you through each step to create your complete process model. Steps include defining the data model, the user interface, the business rules, work allocation, and integration with other applications.
•Bizagi Modeler offers cloud-based services that allow modeler users to manage, publish, collaborate, and govern process models while meeting all modeling requirements. Users around the world can work better together to create and collaborate on corporate process models with a modern architecture.
Security Services
Bizagi Cloud Platform security features comply with the latest industry standards for data security and privacy.
To provide a high level of security, in addition to other security controls, Bizagi Cloud Platform relies on network isolation measures and security components such as the Application Gateway, Next Generation Firewall and the VNet.
App Services
Under the “App Services” boundary, Bizagi groups several services to developing, running, and integrating process solutions:
•Automation Services: Responsible for running and orchestrating the business processes designed in Bizagi Studio.
•Studio Services: Bizagi's web application designed to facilitate the creation, deployment, and management of Studio Services within the PaaS offering.
•Modeler: Modeler services enable the desktop application and Modeler web application for your team to collaborates by modeling, documenting, simulating (paid plans), publishing and sharing business processes in industry-standard BPMN.
Base Platform Services
The Base Platform Services layer supports the Bizagi Cloud ecosystem. It provides the core functionalities that make it possible for other services—such as Automation Services, Studio Services, Modeler Services, to function in a coordinated, secure, and efficient manner.
•Accounts: authenticates users added to the customer subscription, and validates users included within each project of a subscription.
•Platform: controls access to Bizagi’s platform resources, for example, users in the subscription or available environments.
•Catalog: a repository of metadata for all of your cloud-based services.
•GenAI: this web enables the use of advanced AI capabilities through Azure Open AI to power Bizagi's AI services, enhance business processes and user interactions.
Storage Services
Bizagi Cloud uses cloud-based storage options to keep data, documents, and configuration assets secure and readily accessible. Common storage services include:
•SQL Databases: One of the most important components in Automation Service is the database. Business entities, cases, tasks, and operational data are persisted in databases. Bizagi PaaS uses Microsoft Azure SQL Database for its data storage, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security, supporting the efficient management and retrieval of data within Bizagi's platform.
•Bizagi's ODS creates a separate replica of the Production, Test and Development database with read-only capabilities for custom reporting purposes. This allows you to execute queries without affecting the performance of your processes within the main transactional database.
•Cache Redis: distributed cache employed to improve performance and scalability by acting as a high-speed cache for frequently accessed data.
•Storage Accounts: provide scalable, secure, and highly available storage for various types of data within Bizagi PaaS, from unstructured documents and images to metadata and logs.
•Key Vaults are used to securely store passwords and sensitive information, enhancing the protection of critical data.
Azure AI Services
AI Services use Azure Open AI to power Bizagi's AI services such as Ask Ada, AI Agents and Enterprise Knowledge. Each Azure OpenAI service instance is private to its respective subscription, ensuring that data and resources are securely isolated and accessible only to the authorized users within that subscription. Bizagi integrates Content Safety features to detect and flag potentially harmful or undesirable content in images and text, ensuring safer and more responsible AI interactions
Monitoring and Log Services
Visibility into process execution and system health is essential. Bizagi PaaS integrates with various monitoring and logging solutions, such as:
•Log Analytics that consolidates logs from different Bizagi services, enabling administrators to query, analyze, and correlate events.
•Application Insights is part of the Azure Monitor suite and is designed to provide deep insights into applications’ performance and user interactions. It automatically collects data such as request rates, response times, and exceptions, providing a detailed view of application health.
•Managed Prometheus complements our application-level monitoring by providing detailed insights into the underlying infrastructure.
Additional Services
•Disaster Recovery Plan is an additional service with extra cost, to increase the resilience of Automation Service and maintain the continuity of services under an outage or disaster scenario. For further information, see Disaster Recovery.
•VPN it is intended for integration purposes, providing a secure way to access systems, servers or services, that are not exposed via the internet.
SMTP - Email
You are entitled to use Bizagi's email service (which comes shipped in along with the subscription). This module is configured for all the environments of your subscription. The Service also contains a default Inbox to support Email integration feature and Triggers and Actions.
